The complete ninth series of the BBC drama, adapted from Jennifer Worth’s memoirs, about a group of midwives working in poverty-stricken East London during the 1960s. In this series, an outbreak of diphtheria afflicts Poplar, Trixie (Helen George) organises a fundraising fashion show, Sister Julienne (Jenny Agutter) is accused of being out of touch with the local community and a redevelopment scheme places Nonnatus House at risk of demolition.
