Czech surrealist Jan Svankmajer adapts Lewis Carroll’s classic, combining a live-action Alice (Kristyna Kohoutova) with stop-motion animated characters. When a stuffed rabbit comes to life, Alice follows it into a writing desk drawer, eventually leading her to ‘Wonderland’ where she encounters a host of mystifying creatures.
